"The Sonnet Of Graveside Whispers" by Syed Sohail Ahmed.
Oh, graveyard! Your sight, it fills me with despair,
A vision of a land so narrow and bleak,
Where all is consumed by the sand with no care,
And beauty fades, leaving only bones so meek.
In death, there is no class, no rank, no wealth,
For all are equal in their skeletons bare,
The ruler and the ruled, side by side in stealth,
And only whispers remain, filling the air.
Alas! Alas! Should I worry for my fate,
And fear the future that may lie in wait?
Who remembers those whose bones lie in this place,
Except those who served humanity with grace?
Let me awake and serve my fellow man,
Before my bones are consumed by the sand,
May my legacy live on and be remembered,
For the good I've done, and not just bones rendered.
