The Sonnet Of Longing Companion

"The Sonnet Of Longing Companion" by Syed Sohail Ahmed.

As Adam, in Eden's blissful domain,
I marveled at the wonders that I saw,
The rivers pure, the trees with fruits arcane,
A world so perfect, free from any flaw.

Yet, in the midst of all this beauty grand,
I felt a yearning deep within my soul,
A loneliness that I could not withstand,
A void that nothing else could e'er console.

Then, with a prayer to God, my heart's desire,
A companion to share my life and love,
From my own ribs came Eve, my heart's fire,
Sent from above, a blessing from above.

And now I see, in hindsight's sober light,
That woman's presence makes my life complete,
Without her by my side, my days are night,
But with her, joy and peace are ever sweet.

So let us cherish woman's worth and grace,
For she's the missing piece that fills our space.
